A Note to Our Partners: Navigating Rising Coffee Costs Together
Dear Dilworth Partners
At Dilworth Coffee, we’ve always believed that good coffee should be both accessible and exceptional. As your roasting partner, we know every decision we make has a direct impact on your café, your menu, and ultimately your customers. That’s why we want to be open with you about the challenges we’re facing in today’s coffee market—and how we’re working to manage them thoughtfully.
Over the past year, green coffee prices have reached historic highs, driven by a mix of global supply pressures, tariffs, and market volatility. According to Daily Coffee News and recent data from Toast, U.S. cafés have already seen noticeable increases in menu prices, with the national median cost of a drip coffee rising to $3.52 and cold brew climbing to $5.47 (Daily Coffee News, September 29, 2025). These changes reflect what many of us in the coffee industry have been navigating for months: higher costs at every step of the supply chain.
As roasters, green coffee is one of our largest expenses, and like many of our peers, we’ve felt the effects of these market shifts. We’ve worked hard to absorb as much of the added cost as possible through internal efficiencies and strategic sourcing. But despite our best efforts, some of these increases inevitably need to be reflected in our pricing to ensure we can continue providing you with the quality, consistency, and reliability you depend on from Dilworth Coffee Provision Co.
We don’t take these decisions lightly. We know every dollar matters when you’re running a café, and our commitment remains the same: to support your business with excellent coffee, dependable service, and the expertise to help you thrive. Our team is constantly evaluating ways to streamline operations, reduce unnecessary costs, and pass along value wherever possible.
What You Can Do in Your Shop
While rising coffee prices affect us all, there are practical strategies you can use to keep your menu strong and your margins healthy:
- Review Portion Sizes – Even small adjustments in brew ratios or cup sizes can protect costs without sacrificing quality.
- Highlight High-Margin Items – Seasonal lattes, signature drinks, and food pairings often provide more flexibility in pricing than standard drip coffee.
- Promote Loyalty Programs – Encouraging repeat visits can help offset the impact of rising ingredient costs.
- Educate Your Customers – Many café-goers are willing to pay a little more when they understand the quality and care behind their cup.
Thank you for trusting us as your partner in coffee. We’re in this together, and we’ll continue to keep you informed as the landscape evolves. If you’d like to talk more about pricing, sourcing, or strategies to keep your menu strong and profitable, our team is always here to help.
With gratitude,
The Dilworth Coffee Team
